2.5GbE Ports for Higher-Capacity Networking

Each of the DMS-1016’s 16 ports supports speeds up to 2.5GbE, providing additional bandwidth compared with standard Gigabit Ethernet for compatible devices. The added capacity helps support bandwidth-intensive applications including Wi-Fi access points, 4K/8K media, surveillance, AR/VR and gaming systems, NAS, workstations, and other connected devices.

Send Multicast Traffic Only Where It’s Needed

IGMP Snooping helps manage multicast traffic by directing data to the devices that request it, reducing unnecessary traffic across the network. This helps conserve available bandwidth for multicast applications such as IPTV, video distribution, surveillance, and other bandwidth-intensive network services.

Built-In Traffic Prioritization

IEEE 802.1p Quality of Service (QoS) helps prioritize network traffic based on importance, giving higher-priority data preference when network demand increases. This helps support applications such as video, voice, web traffic, and other connected services

Energy-Efficient by Design

IEEE 802.3az Energy-Efficient Ethernet (EEE) helps reduce power consumption during periods of low network activity, while link-status detection powers down ports when no connection is detected. The fanless design also supports quiet operation without the need for a cooling fan.
